Job Descriptions and AI-assisted authoring

Create durable role context, use the authoring assistant responsibly, and publish clear Job Descriptions.

AdministratorsMembers

Job Descriptions explain the purpose, responsibilities, and expectations of a role. Administrators author and update them; members can read the published organizational context available in OrgWell.

Create a Job Description

  1. Open Organization, then Job Descriptions.
  2. Choose New Job Description.
  3. Name the role and connect it to the appropriate Department.
  4. Describe the work in language employees use, including important responsibilities and boundaries.
  5. Review the complete record before treating it as current organizational guidance.

Use AI-assisted authoring

The authoring assistant can help draft or reorganize content. Give it specific context and treat its response as a proposal. A knowledgeable person must verify responsibilities, terminology, reporting relationships, and claims before saving the result.

AI-generated text can be fluent and still be wrong. Do not approve a Job Description solely because the wording sounds polished.

Write for future interview work

A useful Job Description helps an interview author understand what knowledge may be concentrated in the role. Prefer concrete responsibilities and decision boundaries over generic traits. Keep employee-specific performance information out of the role description.

Update an existing description

Edit a Job Description when the role changes materially. Before removing information, check whether current Interview definitions or employee records rely on that context. Existing approved interview revisions and captured evidence remain historical records rather than silently changing with the description.
