The Organization area provides context for interview authors and participants. Use it to describe how work is arranged, not to duplicate every detail from an HR system.
Review the organization overview
The overview brings together the organization record and its Departments. Administrators can edit supported fields; members have a read-only view. Keep names and descriptions recognizable to employees who will see them during preparation or review.
Create a Department
- Open Organization, then Departments.
- Choose the action to add a Department.
- Enter a distinct name and a concise description of the group’s purpose.
- Select a parent only when the Department is genuinely nested under another group.
- Save and review the resulting detail page.
Avoid using a Department as a temporary project label. Stable structure makes Job Descriptions and employee assignments easier to understand later.
Department documents
Department records can include documents that explain the unit’s work. Use fictional or approved non-sensitive material in training and screenshots. For documents that should ground an Interview, upload them to a Knowledge Base instead of assuming an organizational attachment is automatically used as an interview source.
Keep the hierarchy useful
- Prefer a shallow hierarchy that matches how employees describe the organization.
- Correct duplicate or obsolete Departments before assigning more records to them.
- Review the organization after a reorganization so interview context does not rely on stale reporting relationships.
